Boys Basketball Starts New Season, Set Rosters

Franklin Learning Center’s basketball tryouts are over and practices and scrimmages have already begun. Because of the small size of the gym in FLC, most games and practices take place at Cunningham Recreation Center at 1019 Wallace Street, six blocks away.

Both the boy’s varsity and junior varsity basketball teams are off to a great start; practicing in order to perfect their teamwork and mindset. The team is being coached by FLC’s business teacher, Michael Gardner. “Structure and organization is where improving the attitude and teamwork starts,” says Gardner, “but attitude continues to get stronger as the season goes on.”

Gardner knows from personal experience that as “long as we are winning it starts getting fun.” Although there have been multiple seasons in which FLC’s team has not succeeded, Mr Gardner says “I think we have a pretty good chance of winning our league this year.” With practice, dedication, teamwork, and Mr. Gardner’s coaching, FLC’s Bobcats may bring home a championship.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row 0=””][vc_column 0=””][vc_gallery interval=”3″ images=”14156,14155,14154,14153,14152,14151″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
