Lateness Punishment Unfairly Targets Students

Lateness Punishment Unfairly Targets Students

Students shouldn’t be marked late until Advisory is over. The main point of Advisory is to get yourself prepared for the day’s classes. Because of this, Advisory is not really a real class. If it was, you would get credits for it.

Even if it were a real class, many students are late to school due to transportation problems. It is unfair for a student to be marked late for something that wasn’t their fault or something they couldn’t control. When traffic is bad, or trains are delayed, students should not take the blame.

Many students also walk to school and yes that means they live nearby, but sometimes streets get blocked off, or accidents happen.

With so many potential roadblocks, it is an unfair policy to punish students for what they cannot control.
